On April 26, 2008 we found two robin's nest's under the holly trees in our front yard. This is their story. :)
BABY COUNT:

5 - FLEDGLINGS 1 - HATCHLING DIED
THE CHARACTERS:
Big Mama First Egg Laid: 4/25/08 Total Egg Count: 3 Hatched: 2 Unsuccessful Egg: 1 Incubation Period Began: 4/27/08 First Hatch Date: 5/8/08 Fledglings left the nest: 5/22/08

* One hatchling can eat up to 200 feet of earthworms by the time it is ready to leave the nest.
* The robin begins life naked and blind.
* Young Robin's grow speckled brown plumage which helps to hide them until they are able to fly.
* Once the young start out on their own the male robin will stay with them for a few days to help protect them from predators, but afterwards they must fend for themselves.
* Just one young robin can eat 68 earth worms in just 12 hours.
