On April 26, 2008 we found two robin's nest's under the holly trees in our front yard. This is their story. :)

* One hatchling can eat up to 200 feet of earthworms by the time it is ready to leave the nest.
* The robin begins life naked and blind.
* Young Robin's grow speckled brown plumage which helps to hide them until they are able to fly.
* Once the young start out on their own the male robin will stay with them for a few days to help protect them from predators, but afterwards they must fend for themselves.
* Just one young robin can eat 68 earth worms in just 12 hours.
